A very fine Art Nouveau silver cane handle, with a sateen finish, modelled as a open-mouthed serpent, entwined around the shaft, with stamped French silver marks, mounted directly onto an ebonised hardwood shaft, black horn ferrule; for an illustrated similar example please see Catherine Dike, La Canne Object D'art,page 314, plate 37 where there are two sizes of this model.
