A whaling mariner's hand-carved cane, made from a combination of whalebone, whale tooth and dark hardwood - the lower plain section is turned from whalebone, the upper half is made in alternating sections of dark hardwood and whale tooth - the handle further compliments the design, but is turned in the round, whereas the sections are octagonal - beautifully made and in fine condition
